About the Book

Title: Curvy Girls Can’t Date Rock Stars
Series: The Curvy Girls Club
Author: Kelsie Stelting
Genre: YA Clean Romance
Release Date: February 19, 2022

Meeting pop sensation Jude Santiago might be the best thing for my singing career. And the worst thing for my heart.

Singing is my life, but no agency will sign me because of my size. They want me to lose weight. Dress differently. Be someone other than my size twenty self.

They want me to be like Jude Santiago with his perfectly fitted jeans and tight t-shirts and completely sell out. There’s no way I’m going down that path, and I tell him so, publicly, on my Youtube channel.

But when it gets back to him, he has an agreement: go on tour with him and see for myself that he’s authentic. If I can’t, he won’t make another album.

This will be the sweetest bet I’ve ever won… Or the biggest, most public heartbreak of the century.

Curvy Girls Can’t Date Rock Stars is the vibrant, high stakes, rock star romance you’ve been dreaming of! Join these characters on stage as they battle for their careers and their hearts in the tenth book of The Curvy Girl Club!

My Review

Curvy Girls Can’t Date Rock Stars
by Kelsie Stelting
Book 10 in the Curvy Girls Club series
Rating: 4.5/5

Kelsie Stelting does it again! This book was so good! As someone who loves music, I loved seeing the professional side of music tours and management. The characters were amazing and so much fun to get to know. I loved their passion for music and each other. Jude saw Des for who she really was and Des really understood Jude. The issues they had to deal with were very real and relatable.

As someone who loves this series, I highly recommend all of the books and this new one does not disappoint. The author continues to weave inspirational and empowering stories for teenagers (and adults) that you won’t want to miss!

PG-13.

My thanks to the author and publisher for providing me with an ARC of the book. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own. No positive review was expected and no compensation received.

Our foreign exchange student is a prince.

A real-life prince. Like of a country. And he’s not one of those ugly ones with big teeth that girls only like because he’s royal. No, he’s hot. On fire. I’m drooling just thinking about him.

But that’s the problem, because the only reason my parents took him in is because they don’t think there’s any way a guy like him could crush on a girl like me.

I’m going to prove them wrong. I don’t know how. But I’m going to figure out a way to make Leopold Williams fall for me before I cross the graduation stage.

My Review

Curvy Girls Can’t Date Princes
by Kelsie Stelting
Rating: 4.5/5

Kelsie Stelting does it again! She writes a powerful story about self-love and acceptance that made me laugh and cry. As a huge fan of this series, I have enjoyed every story. Each one is truly transformative when it comes to body-positive issues plus identity as a growing young adult. I really enjoyed reading about Faith’s journey and her love story with Leo. I am a huge fan of adoption but I have talked with adoptive parents before who wondered if what they did was truly the best for the child. The author really hits those poignant moments hard and asks the reader to question the motives of those who adopt children. Adopting someone into your home and life is a great thing but it also can come with childhood trauma from being torn away from your family and a hole in your heart. I applaud the author for addressing the issues that the parents and the adoptee have to deal with.

As someone who is a total romantic, I loved the idea of Leo falling in love with Faith. I loved his honesty and his passion. He himself was on a journey of self-discovery where Faith helped lead him.

“Everyone deserves to have someone to sit with at lunch.”

I also loved that the author also focused more on Tatiana. Real life. Real backgrounds. Real issues. Real insecurities. So good. Who doesn’t love a story of redemption?

Highly recommend this inspirational story about young love, adoption, and parental dynamics that will make you believe in unconditional love.

Curvy Girls Can’t Dance
by Kelsie Stelting
Book 7 in the Curvy Girls Club series
Rating: 4/5
Release date: May 22, 2021

I am such a huge fan of this amazing series. Kelsie Stelting knows how to write entertaining and insightful stories about teenage girls growing up and she does not disappoint with this book. You will just gobble this story up and not want to stop twirling.

Adriel’s dancing is everything to her. When she gets kicked off her dance team and out of her studio, she is at a loss for what to do with herself. Having struggled with her weight despite eating a clean diet, Addy turns to a doctor for help who suggests strength training. Luckily, Addy’s stepfather, Ted, owns a gym. When Addy starts working out with a trainer every day, she finds that local bodybuilder talent, Carter, also works out there. Carter is the distraction that Addy doesn’t need but can’t help but feel drawn to. When Carter offers to help Addy enter the next dance contest to qualify for Nationals, she reluctantly agrees. Addy must figure out how to manage her growing feelings for Carter with her dreams of dancing as a career.

Adriel has some real health issues plus her issues with her father and stepfather which the author is able to address in an authentic way. Carter’s insecurities also shine some light into his past which affects his blooming relationship with Addy. I loved how the author also brought back a surprise guest near the end. I love this series and how inspiring the author is with all her characters. I love how encouraging and body positive the author is and cannot wait to read the next installment in this series.

Highly recommend if you enjoy YA sweet romance with a good message and lots of laughs.
PG-13 content.
