Title: A Royal Christmas Author: Melody Carlson Publisher: Revell Genre: Holiday Romance Release Date: September 5, 2023
Adelaide Smith is too busy for fairy tales. She’s been working hard to put herself through law school and now that the end is in sight, she’s determined to stay focused on her goals. Then she receives a letter notifying her that she has been found through a DNA registry to be a direct descendant of King Maximillian V, the ruler of a small Eastern European principality called Montovia. She’s understandably skeptical. This is the stuff of cheesy made-for-TV movies, not real life.
Although the pieces of this surprising family puzzle seem too good to be true, curiosity gets the best of her. At the king’s invitation, Adelaide embarks on a Christmas break trip that is chock-full of surprises, including a charming village, an opulent palace, family mysteries, royal jealousies, a handsome young member of Parliament–and the chance at a real fairy tale romance with a happily-ever-after ending.

My Review
A Royal Christmas by Melody Carlson Rating: 4/5
Who doesn’t love a good Christmas story? As a huge fan of Hallmark Christmas Movies, I absolutely enjoyed this novella. The characters were spunky and fun and authentic. The situation obviously takes some digging into the imagination but who doesn’t love a good Cinderella story? Or a good Princess Diaries plot? I enjoyed the world building and the setting a lot. I was transported to the world of royalty and it was a great escape. The Christmas aspects make the book even more festive and provide a great backdrop for the story.
Highly recommend this fun Christmas novella for those that enjoy clean romance with humor and fun!

Title: Brynn and Sebastian Hate Each Other Author: Bethany Turner Genre: Romantic Comedy Publisher: Thomas Nelson Release Date: September 5, 2023
She’s a sunny morning-show host. He’s a cynical ex-reporter. They’re destined to hate each other . . . Aren’t they?
Brynn Cornell has to be stuck in a nightmare. Just last week, she was riding high as cohost of the popular morning show Sunup. She’s America’s Ray of Sunshine—the girl-next-door beauty who drives up TV ratings while never exuding anything but her trademark positivity and poise. All it took was one huge on-air mistake to expose her snarky side to the world and make it all come crumbling down. Now she’s back in her hometown of Adelaide Springs, Colorado, in a last-ditch attempt to convince viewers she’s not the mean girl they think she is. All she has to do is apologize and capture some feel-good footage reminding everyone she’s just a girl from humble beginnings who’s grateful for her big break, and she might manage to preserve both her career and her image. But this town holds painful memories that she’s not ready to face.
Sebastian Sudworth was on the fast track to the journalist hall of fame. A superstar reporter with a reputation for being in the center of the action, his fearless, relentless coverage of major events around the globe was winning him awards and accolades—until something snapped inside him and he vanished from the scene under mysterious circumstances. Sebastian sought refuge in tiny Adelaide Springs, working odd jobs and trying to blend in as a scruffy mountain town citizen.
When Sebastian is assigned to chauffeur Brynn around town, Brynn is sure he can see right through her carefully cultivated, sunny persona. But she’s determined to do what it takes to maintain her image and save her career—so she’ll just have to charm the socks off Sebastian the same way she charmed her viewers. Easier said than done. It’s no picnic to play nice around someone you hate . . . especially when you might be crazy about them.

Brynn and Sebastian Hate Each Other by Bethany Turner Rating: 4.5/5
I don’t know how she does it but Bethany Turner has written another witty, delightful, charming rom-com that is endearing and so funny! I absolutely love a good enemies-to-lovers trope that brings authentic characters together. I also loved that it was set in a beautiful small town. How I love a good small town romance with quirky characters who make you laugh and smile. I could not stop reading/listening this book. I had the opportunity to read the ARC and listen to the audiobook and they did not disappoint at all. I was hooked from the beginning and the pacing is well done. I never got bored but it wasn’t too fast-paced that you could not enjoy getting to know each of the characters. I would love to return to this small town to get to know more of townspeople.
Highly recommend if you enjoy clean, inspirational, rom-coms that make you chuckle!

When a newly arrived bachelor becomes an instant father, Lovina feels compelled to come to the rescue, helping Thomas care for his Englisch niece as he works toward gaining custody. Although Thomas and his niece clash at every turn, Lovina finds herself building a bond with the girl. Could this be the family she’s longed for?

My Review
Under the Blue Skies by Tricia Goyer, Elly Gilbert Book 3 in the Big Sky Amish series Rating: 4/5
These Amish stories are so addicting. I thoroughly enjoyed this great story from Tricia Goyer and Ellie Gilbert. It was expertly woven with so many good characters and lessons learned. I did not want to put the book down. I love when children are involved and are such delightful characters by themselves. I adored the niece and her spunk and matchmaking prayers. My heart broke for the unkindness and rejoiced with the small victories. Humanity is not perfect – even those within the church and this story does not gloss over the flaws. I loved the story line and how authentic the main characters were. I enjoyed how faith was woven throughout the story. I am super excited to read what comes next.
Highly recommend this heartwarming Amish romance that you won’t want to put down!
