He’s back and he’s out for blood

Fed up with living in the shadow of his brothers, Range Metcalfe struck out to carve a name for himself—one written in the blood of many a terrorist. Now, he’s targeting the notorious Madam of Kandahar, who has trafficked children and women. Finally given the green light, he captures her and quickly finds himself entrenched up in a deadly encounter that forces him into the Afghan wilderness—with the madam.

Ten years trapped in human trafficking and five of those spent overseeing a compound, Kasra Jazani has little left of her soul. No longer able to live with herself, she takes matters into her own hands and coordinates an escape, a massive coup against the man who has kept her and so many others captive. They flee into the night—right into the fierce and capable hands of American operators, who ruin everything and put lives at risk. Livid, she knows death is coming for them, because she also holds a very dangerous, very powerful secret: the name of the man at the top of the trafficking ring. Now that monster wants her—and her American protector—dead.

My Review

Range
by Ronie Kendig
Book 3 in the Metcalfes series
Rating: 4.8/5

Wow. Sometimes I forget how amazing a writer Ronie Kendig is but then I pick up another book from her and literally can’t stop reading. This fast-paced thriller did NOT disappoint and I cannot wait to read what comes next. Each book in the series focuses on one of the Metcalfe siblings but I was super excited to read about Range’s story ever since reading the first book in the series. I’ve read the first two books (which were also excellent and recommended) but this one might be my favorite.

First, the cover is great and well done.
Second, the story hooks you from the start and you cannot stop reading until you figure out what happens next.
Third, the romance was beautiful, gritty and authentic.
Fourth, I loved the characters and their backstories. Everyone is on a journey and though they had missteps, they did not give up.
Fifth, faith and redemption are woven throughout this story. So inspiring. As someone who is passionate about ending human trafficking, I loved this story so much. I wish it hadn’t ended quite so quickly because I wanted more.

PG-13 for some violence. The author does a good job of using fake swear words and not getting too descriptive when it comes to violence or retelling stories of rape.

Highly recommend this fantastic story with romance, action, rescue, intrigue that will not only give you a glimpse inside the world of human trafficking but also give you hope for what can be done to end it.

My thanks to the author and publisher for providing me with an ARC of the book. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own. No positive review was expected and no compensation received.

My Review

Dangerous Beauty

By Melissa Koslin

Rating: 4.5/5

Wow. Talk about a book holding onto you and not letting you go. This story hooks you from the start and delivers a beautiful story of redemption and healing. Definitely not your typical read.

This is my second book from the author and she delivers a romantic thriller that will make you want to read more. As someone who is passionate about the war on human trafficking, I loved how the author wove a story of triumph that was filled with swoony romantic moments and thrilling action! Her faith was also woven into the story in a way that was not preachy but hopeful.

Loved this story and highly recommend if you enjoy Christian romantic suspense!

Supernova by Julie Hall

About the Book

Title: Supernova
Series: Fallen Legacies #4
Author: Julie Hall
Genre: YA Urban Fantasy
Release Date: October 20, 2022

Supernova is a standalone enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, redemptive love story told from Nova’s point-of-view that is a continuation of the Fallen Legacies world intended to be read after Unleashing Fire.

Some lines are meant to be crossed.

Three months ago monsters breached the barrier between realms and poured from the spirit world into the mortal one, intent on enslaving humankind and angel-born alike.

The world is a different place and all I want is to manifest my angelic powers and fight beside the other Nephilim warriors, but when I find myself stranded on a deserted island with Thorne—public enemy number one—I may not live long enough to see that happen.

Even though Thorne helped us defeat his evil mother and stop the Fallen from spreading beyond London, he’s still a ruthless killer who almost brought upon the apocalypse. He may be the most attractive guy I’ve ever met, but he’s definitely the last one I should ever fall for.

I always thought there were lines I would never cross, but I’m learning just how wrong I was.

"There's undeniable chemistry between us . . .
. . . but just because you find the devil alluring doesn't mean you should give in to him."

My Review

Supernova
By Julie Hall
Book 4 in the Fallen Legacies series
Rating: 4/5

As someone who has read and enjoyed the first three books in the series, I was excited that the author decided to write a story just for Nova and Thorne. I loved every moment. Such a great story that was packed with action, romance, humor and redemption! You will swoon, laugh and cheer on the main characters as they seek for truth about what is really happening. They will also employ the help of some familiar friends and I was excited to see their progression too. I really would love to read more in this fascinating world.

P.S.  Cleo was a favorite.

PG-13 for violence. No sex scenes.

Highly recommend if you enjoy clean urban fantasy with romance, humor and lots of action with a feisty and strong female lead and morally gray male lead.

My thanks to the author and publisher for providing me with an ARC of the book. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own. No positive review was expected and no compensation received.
