Book 1 of the Chesapeake Valor Series
Bethany House – Fiction | Romantic Suspense
Griffin McCray is a park ranger with a very specific skill set from his days as a SWAT-team sniper who has tried to get away from the stress and guilt by taking a job far away from the action in Gettysburg. One night when he comes across some relic hunters digging up skeletal remains, he requires the help and expertise of Finley Scott, a forensic anthropologist, to identify the remains. Finley is able to identify the body and determine that the victim was shot by an expert sniper. When his estranged college friend and FBI agent, Declan Gray, takes over the case, Griffin must start confronting the tragedy of the past. Will Finley and Griffin with the help of some friends be able to discover the killer and bring them to justice? Can Finley and Griffin find a place in their lives for each other?
I’m so excited that Dani Pettrey has another hit on her hands! I loved this story and was impressed with the world building and how she introduced new characters (to set up this series) without taking away from the story. I am such a huge fan of her Alaskan Courage series and couldn’t wait to dive into her new Chesapeake Valor series. The author has a way of creating relatable characters who don’t just find love but peace. This story is so captivating I couldn’t put the book down. I basically read it in one sitting because it’s that good. If you are thinking about reading this book, just do it. You won’t regret it.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves adventure, mystery, and romance.
I received this book for free from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
